Man City 23/24 Season Summary
The 2023-24 season for Pep Guardiola’s Man City team was history-defining in the Premier League, winning their fourth successive tital. 28 wins, 7 draws and 3 losses meant they finished on 91 points, pipping Arsenal to the title once again. Erling Haaland won the Golden Boot, amassing an impressive 27 league goals. Meanwhile, Phil Foden won the Premier League Player of the Season award following standout performances week in, week out after netting 19 goals and providing 8 assists for his talented team mates.
Their major league competition performance ended as following during the 23-24 campaign:
UEFA Champions League: Quarter Final following a gruelling knockout tie against Real Madrid that saw the Spanish side do enough to get out of the Etihad with a win on aggregate.
EFL Cup: Third round defeat to Newcastle after an Aleksander Isak winner that saw them run out 1-0 winners.
FA Cup: Runners-up after a 2-1 loss to their bitter rivals, Manchester United.
The 2024-2025 Premier League season has seen turbulent results for Pep Guardiola’s men up to the festive period. This has left them some distance off table-topping Liverpool.
